Academic Support System

Udonpittayanukoon school especially in EP and IP class program, have a very convenient infrastructure, facility, and comfort as good as the name. It’s full of multitalented student starts from singing, dancing and speaking a foreign language.

In EP and IP classroom, they are provided such complete tools to make them feel comfortable when learning. The classroom has an AC in the corner, electric fans, interactive screen, and projector where the teacher can do anything in lesson media such a PowerPoint and video, the teacher can just draw or write on it. Sophisticated, and it’s good.

Teaching System

The school conducts the lesson for 5 days a week, from Monday to Friday at 07.30 am to 16.00. Every day, the learning hours are count as a period, so 5 days work contain 9 periods and 1 period contain 55 minutes.

At 07.40 every morning, the school have a flag ceremony where there is always marching band, flag raising, pray and speech from school chief or another teacher. Lunchtime at 11.30 am to 12.00 pm and the class is over at 16.00. But the field is not going to be quite an empty, most of the students stay until earlier of the night to play a sport.

The classroom especially IP and EP program, the medium of instruction in the school is English. Most of the student can communicate in English, but in teaching, they still have a little bit of shy when they have to speak English in front of the class.  The literature and the textbook that they used also written in English. Most of the teachers in EP and IP program is non - Thailand person. They are selected and placed in Udonpittayanukoon School.

Materials and other learning sources

A student while learning only using textbook and workbook that every student have and the teacher as facilitator provide them with media powerpoint, video, internet or games to make the students more understand with the lesson.

Curriculum

The curriculum that used by Udonpittayanukoon School is Basic Education Core Curriculum 2008 with vision aimed at enhancing the capacity of all learners, who constitute the major force of the country, so as to attain a balanced development in all respects – physical strength, knowledge, and morality. Notable principles underlying the Basic Education Core Curriculum are as follow.

1.  The ultimate aim is the attainment of national unity; learning standards and goals are therefore set with a view to enabling the children and youths to acquire knowledge, skills, attitude, and morality to serve as a foundation for Thai-ness and universal values.

2.  The curriculum facilitates education for all, who have equal access to education of high quality

3.  The curriculum facilitates decentralization of authority by allowing society to participate in educational provision, which suits prevailing situations and serves local needs.

4.  Structure of the curriculum enjoys flexibility regarding learning contents, time allotment, and learning management.

5.  The learner-centered approach is strongly advocated.

6.  The curriculum is intended for the education of all types - formal, non-formal and informal, covering all target groups and facilitating a transfer of learning outcomes and experiences.

The Basic Education Core Curriculum is aimed at the full development of learners in all respects - morality, wisdom, happiness, and potentiality for further education and livelihood. The following goals have consequently been set for achievement upon completing basic education:

1. Morality, ethics, desired values, self-esteem, self-discipline, observance of Buddhist teachings or those of one’s faith, and applying principles of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy;

2. Knowledge and skills for communication, thinking, problem-solving, technological know-how, and life skills;

3. Good physical and mental health, hygiene, and preference for physical exercise;

4. Patriotism, awareness of responsibilities and commitment as Thai citizens and members of the world community, and adherence to a democratic way of life and form of government under a constitutional monarchy; and

5. Awareness of the need to preserve all aspects of Thai culture and Thai wisdom, protection and conservation of the environment, and public-mindedness with the dedication to public service for peaceful and harmonious coexistence.

Teaching Plan

        The teaching plan is more like a class schedule and the divide of matter of each class. A teacher just prepared the media and apply it into the class based on what the student need and how can the student easily understand.

Measurement and Evaluation System

The teachers measure and evaluate student after study using question and answer. The question that given to the student is very, it can be a verbal question in every session of the meeting, constructive questions, answer a problem or question from the book, or etc. Or the question is formed like a game that using the study matter and the student has to solve it.

I can start each day with “Bismillah” and then I can remember those word, so heartwarming and motivational. Dream, you have to have it, beside of it you have to work for it which is mean you can’t just wait for the miracles, you have to find the miracles, so as the dream.

Speak about dream, I can say that I just have it.

            Like in my bio, on my first post, I am 7^th semester student (now 8^th ) who joined a program of SEAMEO. SEAMEO is international organization that have a big role to develop a corporation in education. In SEAMEO there is one program named SEA Teacher. SEA Teacher is a program that provides college student to have an international teaching experience, also help the student to reach their dream and fulfill their college obligation. I am joining the SEA Teacher on its 7^th batch and choosing Udon Thani Rajhabat University (UDRU), Udon Thani, Thailand as my destination college to do my field experience and teaching practice. After we choosing the country. From Indonesia there is 11 students.

There are 3 students from Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), 3 students from Universias PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), 2 students from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI Bandung), 2 students from Universitas Ngeri Jambi (UNJAM) and 1 student from Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO). There are also 6 students from Philippines.

After we accept all of the Letter of Acceptances from our destination campus, and fill the form then we are divides into 4 schools around UDRU. There are 4 schools that we are all divided in to. There are Demonstrations School of Udon Thani Rajabhat University, Udonpittayanukoon School, Satriratchinuthit School, and Ban Mak Khaeng School. From UDRU to Udonpittayanukoon School (I was placed in this school) for next one month, I will get an officially daily activity as a teacher. In this province or maybe at every place on Thailand they call teacher as A-Jarn or Kru. They call me also using that name J. There also a schedule that the University give to us before we came. The schedule is talking our things in entire January in Udon Thani.

                              

(Schedule on Field Experience and Teaching Practice)

            The schedule is contain of things that we do in order one month. In first week we have Observation at school to do at School for next 5 days. In second week, we Assists our teacher mentor and then in third week we will start to teach of course after we got the class schedule from our mentor teacher. On the forth week we are going to reflection activity. This activity is to evaluate all the things that we’ve got during teaching and of course farewell party.

            Every weekend we will go to one trip to the town or another city near Udon Thani. Of course that will be guided by UDRU’s Supervisor. Based on the schedule, at the First week we will going to City Tour at Udon Thani, the next week is visiting Red Lotus Lake, at the third week the schedule is exploring Nong Khai (the border between Thailand and Laos or Mekhong River) then at the last week after we reflect and have a farewell party, there is Departure to go back.
